Update from the 2006 AGM

Firstly a thank you to Julie Pearcy who recorded the full minutes of the meeting in November. Here is an update on the various action points.

1. Membership fees were kept at last year's levels. There are pleas elsewhere on the website for you to pay up.
Incidentally we already have quite a few new members for 2007.

2.The Dallam Dash 10K is on 6th May 2007.I need to co-ordinate with the organising team about entry details etc and I'll then update the race page which is already set up on the website.I can also put it on Runners World website.

3.London Marathon places

2007 draw results were:
1st club place – Mick Pearcy
2nd club place – Ken Nicholls
1st reserve – Dave Deason
2nd reserve – Mike McKenna
Duncan Hurtley will take 5th place.

As Mick and Dave both managed to get individual entries the other club place goes to
Mike McKenna.I've given Ken and Mike their entry slips.

Please note that the meeting also decided how the club places are to be allocated from 2008.
Interested runners should initially apply to the London Marathon through the normal channels. The club places will then be allocated by drawing rejection slips out of a hat. Members who have not been successful before will have preference, whilst those who have taken the club place in previous years will go to the bottom of the list.
The draw will take place at the Christmas Run with absent members registering an interest.

4. Juniors
John Hodgson continues to do a sterling job with the Dallam School runners and encourages them to come along to club runs, but up until now the Club doesn't have a specific training session to cater for all of our juniors.

From Spring 2007 Garry Dowthwaite and Greg Tagney, with the help of other seniors, will trial junior sessions in Dallam Park. Dowy has been keeping me up to date about the insurance and child protection aspects.Further details of the training sessions will appear on the website.

5.Relay Races
Following on from the AGM,the Calderdale Way Relay proved very successful for the Club,in getting two teams of twelve together for a very enjoyable day out.
A great effort on Greg's part.
You'll see from the website that Dowy is organising a squad for the Mary Townley Loop Relay which is on 4th February.

Fell Relays are becoming increasingly popular and tend to get fully subscribed very quickly.
So we need to keep an eye out for when entries open up for the Ian Hodgson,FRA,Calderdale way etc.

Club Secretary
